The Uganda Bureau of Statistics is in dire need of over 100 billion shillings to conduct the national census by August next year. Officials from the bureau are seeking Parliament's approval for a supplementary budget of 25 billion shillings for the implementation of the census in this financial year. The national census first scheduled for August this year was postponed to 15th August next year due to lack of funds.
