Internal Security Minister Katoo Ole Metito was this afternoon taken to task over the basis and consideration used to deploy the military to Garissa and Baragoi.

Metito was at pains to explain the criteria he said was used by the National Security Committee under the chairmanship of President Mwai Kibaki to send the military into the regions.

The speaker alluded to the fact that there was an apparent breach of the constitution.

On their part KDF, through its head of operations, Colonel Cyrus Oguna, has sought to dispel the notion that the military was deployed to Garissa.
