An uneasy calm has returned to Mandera town in northeastern Kenya, hours after the town was hit by stray gunfire and explosives following a fierce firefight between suspected Al Shabab militiamen and Somali Government troops in the nearby Somali border town of Bula Hawa.  The exchange killed several people and left many others injured last night. The fight for control of the Somali border town, which is a few hundred meters from Mandera also injured two Kenyans, including the Mandera East water officer, Mohamed Ali.
