President Mwai Kibaki officiated his last national event before handing over the reigns of power to the country's fourth president soon after the March 2013 elections. Leading Kenyans in marking the 49th Jamhuri Day, the president enumerated his achievements during his 10-year tenure at the helm, citing the promulgation of the new Constitution as the most memorable moment. The president also outlined economic growth, infrastructure development, free learning programmes and reduced poverty levels as the hallmarks of his presidency and challenged Kenyans to elect a visionary, honest and hard-working man or woman to take over from him during the March 4, 2013 polls. Francis Gachuri reports on Kibaki's presidential exit speech.
