Kenyans will soon begin enjoying lower electricity costs with the Kenya Power Generation Company KenGen set to increase hydro-power production. According to KenGen Managing Director Eddy Njoroge, hydro-power which is the most affordable form of electricity generation will now account for over 50% of power generation with the balance being met with a mix of geothermal, wind and diesel power generation. Njoroge says that at the current water levels can support power production for the next one year with the forthcoming rainy season expected to boost water level at the already over flowing Masinga dam.
