When she was 14, Helen Kwac (not her real name) was abducted by Joseph Kony and the Lord's Resistance Army in northern Uganda. Today she’s a human rights activist, fighting for Acholi land rights and against government corruption.

Kwac rarely grants interviews, as she tries to keep one step ahead of the authorities. You’ll hear why she risks her life in the audio below. We’ve altered her voice to protect her identity.
