South Africa's Ruling Party Talk Freedom As the Country Marks 19 Years of Democracy

This Friday marks the 19th anniversary of the 1994 democratic elections. Following a series of tense negotiations, South Africa held the first elections of this kind.
Of the 22.7 million eligible voters, 19.7 million voted. The African National Congress won by 62.65 % votes. The party was then voted into power, and Nelson Mandela was inaugurated as president on the tenth of May the same year.
