South African Miners' Union Calls for Reconciliation

South Africa's militant mining union Tuesday extended an olive branch to its rival union ahead of the first anniversary of the killing of 34 striking workers in Marikana. Joseph Mathunjwa, the leader of the Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union extended an invitation to the once dominant National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) to jointly make a peace call.
