Maintaining the momentum for the ten years of peace celebration to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) for Liberia, hundreds of Liberians joined by President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf and some international partners on 25 August 2013 participated in the Liberia Marathon. The 26.6 mile marathon cycled the entire city of Monrovia from the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sport Stadium through Tubman Boulevard and Somalia Drive and back to the stadium. A distinctive feature of the Liberia Marathon is a race of the disabled persons on wheelchairs or crutches.
