A unique panel of business, government, conservation and academic leaders have agreed on a global strategy for preserving ocean health. The Blue Ribbon Panel released a report October 16th saying the consequences for economies and communities could be disastrous if ocean health declines further. However, the report says there are solutions that if put in place within the next decade could benefit both oceans and people. The Blue Ribbon Panel was convened by the World Bank to advise the Global Partnership for Oceans, an alliance of over 140 governments, organizations and private sector interests committed to ocean sustainability.
