You can see them in almost any city in Africa, children who live on the streets. They're dirty, they're rude and they scavenge in the dustbins. Many people find them annoying; but do they really know or care to find out what drives them onto the streets? What are the stories behind these children? In this week's edition of Speak UP, Maseline, a jazz musician who used to live in the streets of Harare, tells of her experience. From surviving the ordeal of rape, to eventually  finding her own way out.  She now tries to help other children out a situation she herself was once in. Hers is a story of redemption, and of second chances. Speak UP! is an audio show in which young Africans discuss thorny social issues without pulling any punches.
