At age 7, Congolese rapper Oracle was forced to leave her parental home in Kinshasa and move to a place where women were treated differently than the women in the capital. Oracle wasn't allowed to make music. Because she was a girl.

Her experiences inspired her to write her song 'Dans la peau d'un orphelin', which translates as 'In an orphan's skin'. To her, the song is a tool to break with the past. Oracle hopes it will do the same for other women.

My Song showcases the personal stories behind the songs of Africa's most compelling musicians. You'll hear these musicians in their own words. No presenter, no interviewer - nothing to get in the way. Just African voices on African music.
