SMEs in developing countries and economies in transition are playing an increasingly important role in international trade, thereby providing much needed employment and entrepreneurial opportunities. The internationalization of SMEs can lead to a wider distribution of wealth and contribute to the alleviation of poverty. The World Export Development Forum that was hosted in Kigali event brings together over 500 local and international participants to discuss how small and medium sized enterprises can be engines for export led development and job creation. WEDF is a joint event between the International Trade Centre and the Rwanda Development Board.
