Master Senegalese percussionist Doudou N'Diaye Rose, whose real name is Mamadou N'Diaye has died in Dakar. This 1993 film is of a recording session by Rose and dozens of other drummers and singers performing as an ensemble. Filmed on the island of Goree, off the coast of Dakar, it shows African drumming in one of West Africa's major centers of the slave trade.
