Popular musician Robert Kyagulanyi, who is also an independent candidate in the Kyadondo East by-election in Wakiso district, has been arrested by police. Kyagulanyi, more popularly known as Bobi Wine, was arrested after he refused to follow police orders instructing him to abandon a scheduled campaign rally. Kyagulanyi refused to leave the venue and told his followers not to move. He maintained that he was granted permission to campaign at the venue. The police ordered for Kyagulanyi's supporters to disperse because President Museveni was due to be in the area to attend a rally for Sitenda Sebalu, the NRM candidate in the same by-election. After a brief impasse between Kyagulanyi, his supporters and the police, the musician turned politician was arrested and quickly driven away to Kasangati police station.
