Washington — The Corporate Council on Africa (CCA) today released the first comprehensive American-produced investment guide on Equatorial Guinea. The publication, "Equatorial Guinea: A Country Profile for U.S. Businesses", highlights business opportunities in the tiny Central African country, which was recently described by The New York Times as a possible "Kuwait of Africa".
Already the world's fastest growing economy, Equatorial Guinea is the largest destination for American private sector investment in Sub- Saharan Africa, after South Africa, Nigeria and Angola. It will soon become Sub-Saharan Africa's third largest oil producer.
CCA President Stephen Hayes said, "Equatorial Guinea presents enormous opportunity for American companies and this guide provides unprecedented insight into doing business in the country."
The country profile includes macroeconomic and business information, profiles of principal growth sectors, statistical data and contact information for key government and business leaders in Equatorial Guinea. It also features current American investments.
The guide was underwritten by Chevron; CMS Energy; ExxonMobil; Ocean Energy; Triton Energy; Vanco Energy; AfricaGlobal; and Oceaneering International. To obtain a copy of the guide, contact CCA at (202) 835- 1115 or cca@africacncl.org
