Maputo — Mozambican health units treated almost 4.5 million cases of malaria
(4,478,215 to be exact) in 2003, and 3,212 of these patients died.
According to a release from the Health Ministry, issued for the African
Day of Combat against Malaria, commemorated on 25 April, the province with
the largest number of deaths, 627, was Nampula in the north, followed by
Maputo City, with 417.
