The African Development Bank (AfDB) will have a strong presence at the 40th World Economic Forum in Davos, opening on 26 January 2010.
The Bank's President Donald Kaberuka will lead the delegation, and will participate in discussions at the Forum, where the theme this year is "rethink, reshape and rebuild."
Lessons from the financial crisis
Several round table talks will be devoted to Africa and its situation in the aftermath of the global financial crisis. President Kaberuka will attend a number of them, including one which will concentrate on "rethinking growth policies in Africa", and another which will concentrate on infrastructure in Africa.
Balance between the real world and finance
"What we hope is to rebalance the relationship between the real economy and the world of finance," said Klaus Schwab, founder and chairman of the Forum since 1971. "Something is fundamentally not right in the financial sector", he says, speaking of the consequences of a full year of financial crisis.
Some 200 seminars will mark the Forum 2010.
