AfDB, BMGF And FAO - Developing Clear Roadmap to Improve Food And Agricultural Statistics in Africa

The AfDB, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) and FAO are organizing a conference in Hammamet, Tunisia on the Strategy for Improving Food and Agricultural Statistics in Africa. The conference is being held from February 3-4, 2010, and was opened by Charles Leyeka Lufumpa, AfDB Director, Statistics Department.

Participants include directors and technical experts from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation; bilateral agencies and multilateral institutions, including the FAO, the World Bank; regional research centers and remote sensing centers; sub-regional and regional institutions; national statistics offices; training institutions and agricultural statistical services within and outside Africa.
