D.Kaberuka Expresses Gratitude to AfDB Regional Governors Following Their Unanimous Support for GCI

The African Development Bank (AfDB) President, Donald Kaberuka, expressed gratitude to AfDB regional governors for supporting the institution's efforts for a general capital increase (GCI). Speaking at the closing ceremony of a meeting of AfDB governors on Friday, February 12, 2010, in Tunis, Mr. Kaberuka underscored the importance of the institution's general capital increase.

He thanked the governors for their "unanimous support» for the general capital increase. At the end of the discussions, Mr. Kaberuka assured the governors of the Bank's commitment, adding that « We will carefully examine relevant proposals and the judicious guidelines that you have wanted to share with the AfDB management today."
