Shugaba Abdurrahman Darman, a political actor during the era of late Sir Ahmadu Bello in the 1960's, died Wednesday in Maiduguri at the age of 80.
Darman became famous when as majority leader of the Borno State House of Assembly under the defunct Great Nigeria Peoples Party (GNPP) he was deported to Chad in 1980 by the Federal Government under President Alhaji Shehu Shagari of the National Party of Nigerian (NPN) a development that generated intense debates and celebrated litigations in the Second Republic.
