Partnership Meeting Between AfDB And the Agence Française De Développement (AFD)

A partnership meeting will be held between the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the Agence française de développement (AFD) on Tuesday, 8 June 2010 in Tunis.

The central objective of the meeting is to strengthen the partnership between the AfDB and the AFD. The meeting will provide an opportunity to identify and to focus on the sectors and processes from which to build a closer relationship and create added value for both the institutions and the beneficiaries of their funds.

The meeting will be officially opened by the AfDB President and the AFD Director General. The two institutions will then be invited to present their respective progress and developments in recent years in terms of mandate, commitments, intervention processes and major reforms.

Several priority areas will be addressed, such as the private sector, fragile states, regional integration and climate change. One of the key themes of the meeting is entitled "Africa in 2050 and after? " where several proposals in the field of cooperation will be addressed.
