Namibia: No Handshakes, No Smiles as RDP Arrives

Windhoek — There were no handshakes, not even eye contact or smiles from erstwhile friends of Hidipo Hamutenya when he and his entourage arrived at Parliament yesterday for business.

The newly-crowned official opposition, the Rally for Democracy and Progress (RDP), arrived at Parliament yesterday to a lukewarm reception, with no handshakes or even an official warm welcome by its main rival Swapo.
