The Making Finance Work for Africa Partnership launched today the French version of its website, www.mfw4a.org/fr
"I believe this represents a milestone for the African financial sector development community, and particularly the 250 million inhabitants of Francophone Africa", says Stefan Nalletamby, Coordinator of the Making Finance Work for Africa Partnership. He emphasized that French-language information on financial sectors is limited and that the website aims at breaching the language barrier by not only centralizing available resources, but also identifying knowledge gaps - thereby exposing needs and encouraging the generation of additional knowledge materials.
The website is a mirror image of the English-language www.mfw4a.org, making available knowledge materials on African financial sectors accessible to the vast Francophone audience on the continent.
In addition to thematic notes, links and studies, members of the MFW4A Financial Journalist Network regularly publish lively reports - soon also available in French - on a range of financial sector issues across the continent. The website also includes a blog, the Africa Finance Forum, where renowned financial sector experts, practitioners and academics debate current issues in African finance and where users can take part in the discussion.
The Partnership
The Making Finance Work for Africa Partnership was established to coordinate financial sector development efforts on the continent amongst African go
vernments, the private sector, and development organizations. Hosted by the African Development Bank in Tunis, the MFW4A Secretariat facilitates coordination of development projects, manages the website and advocates for financial sector development.
