Gambia: Voter Registration Starts in Earnest

General registration of voters started in earnest at the Serre Kunda Ghadaffi Mosque, Serrekunda School and Six Junction registration centres yesterday, attracting a number of claimants who wish to be registered. Two hundred teams are engaged in this exercise throughout the country which will enable voters to vote at the presidential, national assembly and council elections.

Aji Fatou Ndure,the supervisor at the Gaddafi Mosque registration centre described day one of the registration of voters at her centre as smooth, saying many people turned up to be registered.
