AfDB and IMF Organize Training On Balance of Payments for Statisticians

A seminar on 'Balance of Payments and International Investment Position Statistics', organized b the African Development Institute and the IMF's statistic department began in Tunis on 21 November 2011 and will run until 2 December.

The course provides training on the methodology for collecting and compiling balance of payments and international investment position statistics based on the sixth edition of the IMF's Balance of Payments Manual.

It consists of a series of lectures, discussions, and practical exercises. Lectures and class discussions will focus on general concepts and compilation practices, while exercises will provide participants with an opportunity to put their new knowledge into practice.

The seminar brings together some 30 participants from 26 regional member countries of the Bank.
