The Members of the Infrastructure Consortium for Africa (ICA) held their meeting at the Sheraton Hotel in Tunis on 22 and 23 November 2011.

Max-Olivier Gonnet of the French foreign ministry co-chaired the meeting along with Alex Rugamba, director of the Bank's NEPAD, regional integration and trade department.

The meeting was an opportunity for ICA members to review ICA activities in 2011 and provide strategic guidance for 2012.

Delegates included representatives from the Japanese, Canadian, German and British cooperation agencies,the European Investment Bank (EIB), the European Commission, the French and German foreign ministries, the World Bank and the African Development Bank.

In addition, potential new members from India, Turkey, South Africa and Saudi Arabia, were welcomed by all - a result of the May 2011 decision to expand ICA membership from G8 to G20 countries.

The agenda for the two-day meeting covered ICA expansion, in-depth discussion of the ICA's role in the G20 outcomes, future direction for the ICA Sector Platforms (energy, transport and water), presentation of new knowledge-sharing products, ICA's role in PIDA, and the Initiative for Risk Mitigation in Africa.
