Angola: Head of State, CPLP Chairman Reacts to Events in Bissau

Luanda — Angolan President and acting Chairperson of the Portuguese-speaking Countries Community (CPLP), José Eduardo dos Santos, condemned strongly the action occurred on December 26, 2011 in Bissau city, perpetrated by a group of military rebels under the pretext of claiming their salaries, and having kept control of magazine in Amura barrack.

This condemnation is contained in a letter sent late last year to his counterparts of this organization, which states that military rebels also attempted to assault the Army Headquarters and the General Staff of the Guinean Armed Forces.
