African leaders elected Mrs Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma as chairperson of the African Union Commission at the 19th African Union Summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on 15 July.

The current South African home affairs minister, and former foreign affairs, minister, Mrs Dlamini-Zuma is the first woman to hold the post of head of the African Union Commission.
