Nigeria: Jonathan to Sack Non-Performing Ministers in January 2013

Indications have emerged that President Goodluck Jonathan is set to sack some of his ministers by January next year, following the Performance Contract signed by the ministers before the commencement of last Wednesday's Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.

Sources close to the ministers told LEADERSHIP SUNDAY that some of the ministers who have had the hunch of the impending cabinet shakeup trailing the introduction of the performance bond introduced by the President, in which all the ministers have since the first quota of this year made themselves available to the Presidential Villa to give account of their stewardship, were not behaving as if things are the way they used to be.
