Zimbabwe: Cyanide Case Lands Another Boss in Court

The director of LA Cargo that owns Pair Trade Investments and the firm's clearing agent have appeared in court over the delivery of sodium cyanide to Harare City's main waterworks. Pair Trade Investment facilitated the delivery of the sodium cyanide to Morton Jaffray. LA Cargo director Apronalise Mupakaviri (41) and Pair Trade Investment agent Tiki Tarwirei (39) were granted US$1 000 bail apiece, coupled with stringent conditions.

They appeared before Harare magistrate Ms Anita Tshuma on Friday facing allegations of contravening sections of the Water Act and the Environmental Management Act.
