Kenya: Teachers Demand Security Guarantees During Exams

TEACHERS from Mombasa county have threatened to stop invigilating the ongoing national exams over insecurity fears. Mombasa county Knut chairman Johnson Kibuga said on Tuesday that teachers will not expose themselves and the students to danger just to supervise the exams.

"We have have asked the authorities to beef up the security so that examination officers and the candidates are safe," Kibuga said. Kibuga said Knut has been engaging the Ministry of Education officials over the security issue during this examination period.
