NSSF considers pouring Shs 50 billion into power company

Umeme's quest for more than Shs 170 billion through the sale of its shares to the public -- the largest Initial Public Offer in Uganda's history -- ends today. But determining whether this IPO was a success or failure -- the numbers will be released before the listing date of November 30 -- will mainly boil down to a complex web of top energy power brokers who have an interest of one kind or other.
