South Africa: Presidency Confirms It Informed Parly On Employment of Troops

Pretoria — The Presidency wishes to point out that President Jacob Zuma did in fact inform Parliament of his decision to authorise the employment of 400 South African National Defence Force (SANDF) personnel to the Central African Republic (CAR), and therefore did not violate the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa.

"Reports alleging that President Zuma did not inform Parliament are false," the Presidency said in a statement on Tuesday.
