UNIDO Director General, Kandeh Yumkella on February 18, 2013 in Tunis, called on the Bank Group and had a talk with president Donald Kabaruka.

The two men brainstormed on the global agenda of the World Economic Forum (WEF), with focus on energy and infrastructure investments in Africa. "The meeting also highlighted efforts to realize resources and energy plan and sector reforms in the continent," Yumkella explained.

This meeting comes on the heels of the January 22, 2013 World Economic Forum, in Davos, where innovation, technology, agricultural transformation, education, governance, infrastructure, SMEs and international partnerships were at the centre stage of discussions.

Co-chairing WEF meeting in Davos, president Kaberuka highlighted the critical need for leaders from all corners of the world to come together and brainstorm on solutions that would give global economic growth a big push. "I have had beneficial and practical discussions with president Kaberuka," Mr. Yumkella said.
