For a many people, the idea of the commencement of a university programme at the dawn of the Peaceful July 22nd Revolution was a far-fetched dream with its viability questioned at the time. Many had cast doubt on whether The Gambia was ready for such an ambitious programme given the status quo at the time, but the visionary revolutionaries led by President Yahya Jammeh were more determined to have this golden programme instituted given the priceless impact it would have on The Gambia's socio-economic development aspirations inline with their Vision 2020.
