For several weeks before April 12 this year which coincided with the second Friday in April, enacted since 1883 as national day for Fast and Prayer, most Liberians were apparently ominous about the unabated threats by some advocacy groups that repeated they had planned and mobilized an anti-government protest in demand for government to redress social, economic and governance ills they outlined to be existing in our society.
The grassroots leadership network in collaboration with some civil society organizations repeatedly threatened a mass anti-government protest on April 12, 2013 to seek redress of several grievances, including lack of justice for war victims, corruption and nepotism in government, massive suffering in Liberia and resignation of President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.
