Minna — Governor Mu'azu Babangida Aliyu of Niger State yesterday said the call for outright ban of almajiris on the streets will not be a permanent solution to the country's social problems if adequate alternative arrangement capable of absorbing them into a formal system of education is not provided.
"You can't ban a culture without putting something in place. Therefore, there is the need for an alternative concrete arrangement that will effectively absorb the almajiris into the formal school system before arriving to a point of banning them", he said.
