Liberia: 'Women Used Sex Strike for Peace'

The President of the Muslim Women for Peace in Liberia Asatu Bah-Kenneth says women abstained from sex during the civil war as a strategy to restore peace in Liberia.

Explaining her ordeal at the start of a three-day program commemorating ten years of sustained peace in Liberia, Mrs. Bah-Kenneth said women organizations fasted and prayed at the Fish Market in Sinkor for more than six months without having sex.
