Unknown assailants opened fire on a wedding ceremony at a Cairo church on Sunday, killing three people, including a 13-year-old girl, reports the online news service of Al Ahram newspaper.

The BBC reported that the attack, on a Coptic church, was perpetrated by gunmen riding motorcycles.

Al Ahram quoted an Egyptian government official as saying that the adult victims were a man and a woman, who was the bridegroom's mother.

The news service also quoted an eyewitness as saying a man had randomly shot 15 bullets at the wedding party. The attack took place in the Cairo suburb of Al-Warraq.
