Three alleged Mozambique National Resistance (Renamo) armed men were summarily executed in the early hours of 5 December by Rapid Intervention Force (FIR) officers in the bush around the hamlet of Nthipuehi, in Gazuzo, Murrupula district, 70 kilometres from Nampula city.
Domingos Talapua, a survivor of the macabre operation, recounted that they were taken to Mozambique National Police (PRM) cells in Nampula on the morning of 3 December after being taken by surprise by a group of community patrolmen in Mogovolas, while hunting illegally.
