Cape Town — Kenyan actress Lupita Nyong'o has been nominated for an Oscar in the category of Best Supporting Actress for her role in 12 Years a Slave. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced its nominations for the 2014 Academy Awards on Thursday.
The awards ceremony, which will be hosted by Ellen DeGeneres, will air on March 2.
