Gambia/Liberia: Liberia U-20 Coach Faults Nation's Late Preparation

Head coach of Liberia's U-20 team Kaetu Smith has disclosed that he was not expecting much from his side when they lost to the Young Scorpions of The Gambia 1-0 in the first round first leg African Youth Championship qualifier in Monrovia last weekend.

Kaetu whose side went to camp five days before the game at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium set-up was speaking to FrontPageAfrica in an interview ahead of the encounter. Former Brikama United striker Bakary Daffeh's lone goal was enough to give the Gambians the key first-leg victory over. Both sides as reported by FrontPageAfrica got off to impressive starts, but it was the visitors who look threatened early and took control in the 13th minute only to see the effort saved by Liberia goalkeeper Koulibaly Abdulai.
