Speaking at the ceremony, Mayor Yankuba Colley thanked the Gambian leader for the opportunity to present the Award to the recipients, while commending him for recognising their efforts. "We are all equal as far as President Jammeh and his APRC party is concerned. You need to continue with the love you have for the Gambian leader and his party and The Gambia in general so that the country can move forward for our own good," Colley, also the national mobiliser of APRC, stated.

He added: "President Jammeh is aware of the efforts of each and every APRC party militant. Just continue with the good work, one day the Gambian leader will surprise you because he always surprises people."
