US President Obama is to announce that the US will send troops to West Africa in an effort to fight the Ebola outbreak, according to administration officials. The troops are to build clinics and train healthcare workers.
Ahead of a planned trip to the Center for Disease Control in Atlanta on Tuesday, administration officials speaking to reporters on the condition of anonymity have said President Barack Obama is to announce the deployment of around 3,000 troops to the nations most affected by Ebola, with a particular emphasis on Liberia.
