West Africa: Regional Bloc Calls for Dialogue in Burkina Faso

The chairman of the West African regional bloc ECOWAS called on Sunday for talks between all sides in Burkina Faso after the country's president was ousted.

Ghana's President John Dramani Mahama said the departure of Blaise Compaore on Friday after violent protests against his rule had "opened the way for dialogue and peace" but all parties needed to respect democracy and constitutional governance.
