Liberia: ETU Unveiled in Bomi - Officials Condemn Complacency Trend

Tubmanburg — A 100-beds capacity Ebola Treatment Unit was opened Monday in Bomi County and turned over to the Government of Liberia. Cutting the ribbon to the ETU, Vice President Joseph Boakai said at the height of the Ebola outbreak, when he attended the US Africa Forum at the White House, along with US Ambassador Deborah Malac and former Ambassador Linda Thomas Greenfield, his parting words, was a plea to U.S. President Obama to come to Liberia's aid.

The Vice President said former Ambassador Greenfield assured him that his message was already there. "I knew that my message had been heard, when 3000 troops arrived here, and then I knew Ebola was on the run as the US Army will chase the aggressor."
