The African Development Bank is offsetting the carbon emissions from transportation and electricity use during its 2015 Annual Meetings in Abidjan in an effort to migitate climate change. The Bank is contributing to the financing of a cookstove project in Cameroon run by CO2balance, in partnership with a local NGO, A.C.R.E.S.T.

The initiative involves leveraging carbon finance to subsidise the construction and sales of more than 3,300 efficient wood-burning stoves in the cities of Mbouda and Dschanque.
