International Financial Institutions announce $400 billion to achieve Sustainable Development Goals
The multilateral development banks (MDBs) and International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Friday, July 10 signaled plans to extend more than $400 billion in financing over the next three years and vowed to work more closely with private and public sector partners to help mobilize the resources needed to meet the historic challenge of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The third international conference on Financing for Development opened on 13 July 2015 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The opening plenary meeting was opened by the UN General Secretary, Ban Ki-moon.
