Africa investor (Ai), a leading international investment and communications group, today announced that African Heads of State will gather for the Ai-UNOSAA African Heads of State and Government Investment Working Lunch, to be held on the 24th of September 2015 at the Thomson Reuters offices on 195 Broadway, New York, and taking place during the UN General Assembly.
The African Heads of State and Government Investment Working Lunch is jointly organised by Africa investor, the United Nations Office of the Special Adviser on Africa (OSAA), and the Global Partnerships Forum. The event will foster a dialogue between business and government leaders on the eve of the United Nations 70th anniversary, which will adopt the post-2015 development agenda to share their visions for the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Africa and the role and partnership they would like to advance with the business and investment community in Africa.
In line with the Dakar Agenda for Action of June 2014, and following the launch of the Continental Business Network, which aims to increase private sector participation in the financing and implementation of projects under the Programme for Infrastructure Development in Africa (PIDA), the dialogue will consider the role and potential partnerships with the business and investment community in implementing Africa’s transformative agenda, Agenda 2063 and its Ten-year Implementation Plan.
Commenting on the event, Hubert Danso, CEO and Vice Chairman of Africa investor, said; “This crucial event comes at an extremely important time; this will constitute a unique platform for a dialogue on investment channels between African Heads of State and government, and the international investment community, with the aim of developing investment partnerships that promote the post-2015 development agenda and the African Union’s Agenda 2063.”
The Ai-UNOSAA African Heads of State and Government Investment Working Lunch will be held during the Ai CEO Investment Summit on the 24th of September 2015 at the Thomson Reuters offices on 195 Broadway, New York, USA.
